Recently, the 2025 Chinese Language Week at China (Hong Kong) English School (CHES) came to a successful conclusion. This year's Chinese Language Week, themed "Showcasing Your Skills in Language, Nourishing Your Heart with Books", offered a series of creative and engaging activities, providing all students with an immersive Chinese learning experience and highlighting the boundless charm of the Chinese language.
At the opening ceremony, the passionate recitations from the Chinese teachers and the heartfelt chanting of the children from the traditional culture classes jointly set the stage for this cultural extravaganza.

The activities were full of highlights, and each grade had its own shining moments.
In the first grade's "Wonderful Journey in the World of Wisdom and Fun" activity, the Chinese classroom was moved to the auditorium. Through games like "Pinyin Flipping Fun" and "Chinese Character Maze", students gained knowledge and stamps while enjoying the party.
In the dictation competition for the second grade, only the sound of pen tips scratching on paper could be heard. The students calmly took on the challenge, and their neat handwriting demonstrated their proficient mastery and sincere love for Chinese characters.

At the "Fairy Tale Fun Fair" knowledge competition for third graders, a lively contest centered on classic fairy tales was in full swing. Students competed with each other to answer questions, demonstrating their intimate knowledge of the stories like "Little Red Riding Hood". The venue was filled with continuous applause, celebrating the students who are familiar with all fairy tales.
The "Myth World Exploration" knowledge competition for fourth graders ranged from "Nuwa Mending the Sky" to "Kua Fu Chasing the Sun". Students transformed their textbook knowledge into quick responses on the competition stage, breathing new life into the romance and courage contained in ancient myths in the modern classroom.
The "Folk Tales Mini Theater" for fifth graders turned into a vivid classroom for cultural inheritance. Students' passionate performances made the audience laugh and sigh along with the plot, deeply embedding the kindness and wisdom in the stories into their hearts.
For sixth graders, the competition revolved around "Childhood" and "Love Education", focusing on growth literature for critical thinking. Students revisited the classics through the Q&A competition, savoring the "warmth of humanity" between the lines.

The integration of AI into Chinese language teaching sparked a school-wide competition that ignited wisdom.
One of the highlights of this Chinese Language Week was the "AI-generated Drawings Meet Chinese Class" activity. Students competed to guess Chinese characters, match idioms, and answer poetry questions based on pictures created by AI, fully demonstrating their solid language foundation and quick thinking skills.
During this Chinese Language Week, teachers and students traveled through stories and reveled in the world of words, carrying the joy of Chinese culture in their pockets!
