Recently, the senior high grade 11 students of China (Hong Kong) English School (short for C.H.E.S.) went to visit G-Technologies Co., Ltd. in Zhongshan City, learning about the company's high-tech applications and business operations in elevator electrical and control systems.
Combining social practice with high school business education
As the first domestic and first secondary school in Zhongshan to offer business education, C.H.E.S. insists on combining in-school and out-of-school classrooms to provide students with various business and science practice opportunities, helping students to better understand what they have learned in the classroom and consolidate the Cambridge International (A-Level) business and science foundation.

G-Technology Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the field of elevator electrical and control systems. On the day of the business field trip, the students arrived at the G-Technology Industrial Park and were divided into two groups to visit and learn about the latest knowledge of global elevator electrical and control systems. Student Yan Zehan exclaimed: "Business studies pay more attention to practice. With the economic and financial knowledge we learned in class, we've come to visit and understand the actual operation of the enterprise. I feel this trip is very rewarding." The students asked questions to the management of the company in a frank and generous manner, and Mr. Xu, the head of the sales department, answered everyone's questions patiently. The energetic spirit and rich knowledge of the C.H.E.S. students left a deep impression on the enterprise management.
Dr. Jonathan Choi, Chairman of C.H.E.S., introduced that since the school was founded 30 years ago, it has always emphasized practice and innovation, insisting on moving the "second classroom" into every corner of advanced enterprises and cities, and teaching students according to their aptitude through "opening their eyes to the world". In recent years, the school has successively organized business classes to enter well-known and excellent enterprises such as Mentholatum, Emerson Network Energy, Sanhe Chemical, Yate Bioscience, Yuechen Electronics, and Guangdong Intelligent Agriculture Co., Ltd. to study business operations, financial and human resource management knowledge.

Outstanding graduates from the business department are popular for studying abroad
In recent years, economic and business majors have always been a hot topic for domestic students to apply for studying abroad. Some students will study business courses at the A-level stage to understand the major in advance. In response to the needs of the times, C.H.E.S. is the first international school in Zhongshan and the first batch in China to introduce business professional courses into the high school stage.
Ms. Huang Qianhui, the teacher in charge of accounting teaching in the business class, introduced that the business classes have produced many talents. Since teaching business classes in 2020, she has found that more than half of the students in the business class have achieved an "A rate" in multiple subjects in the Cambridge A-Level exam. Outside the classroom, students in the business class are also fearless and competitive in well-known international business competitions. For example, in the 2021 Asdan Business Competition, business class students Zhang Haoxin, Kawan Feng Tsui and others won the championship in the South China region with their meticulous thinking and quick completion of operational decisions. This year in July 2023, in the BPA (Business Professionals of America), a global authoritative business academic competition, our 6C business class students Wu Yazhi and Cheong Chi Son won the Silver Medal in the China region. It is worth mentioning that Cheong Chi Son also won the Top in China Award given by the International Assessment Department of Cambridge University in April this year.

Every year, the high school business class sends a large number of outstanding graduates to well-known business schools at home and abroad. Miss Li Letong, a graduate from the class of 2018, was admitted to the Human Resources Management major of the School of Business of Hong Kong Baptist University. She is now studying for her master's degree at the University of Hong Kong and was already hired by the Sun Hung Kei Group in Hong Kong before graduation. The founder of Guangdong Intelligent Agriculture Company, Miss Ruan Yinqi, is also a C.H.E.S. graduate who spent her primary, junior middle to high school for 11 years here. After being admitted to the City College of London in the UK, she saw the oversea "Internet + greenhouse" technology and successfully started a business after returning to China. When speaking of outstanding graduates who studied business at C.H.E.S., Chairman Dr Jonathan Choi couldn't help but taking great pride in all their accomplishments.
