Recently, students from the business department of the secondary school section of China (Hong Kong) English School (CHES) participated in the National Economic Challenge (NEC) for the first time, and brought back many major awards with their outstanding strength, including Regional Top Scoring Team Award, Top Rookie Award, National Top Scoring Silver Award, etc.

It is reported that student Nui Loy Yi from F6C and Grace Chan from F5C were selected for the Hall of Fame for Macro Economic, which showcases a perfect display of personal and team style! F5C Student Yang Hanqi, Huang Siyuan, Liao Ziqing and Wu Yujie won the Regional Top Scoring Team Award for Macroeconomic. Student LU TIN YU and LAM SIU HIM won the Team Top Rookie Award. Wang Meiqi and YANG ANGEL won the Regional Individual Excellence Award in Macroeconomic. HO YU CHING won the Individual Top Rookie Award.

National Economics Challenge is a highly influential economics academic activity for middle school students. After 20 years of development, more than 20,000 students are invited to participate every year - after its introduction to China in 2016. The event has covered more than 20 provinces and regions, more than 400 schools, and thousands of financial and business students have benefited from it. NEC differentiates the concepts of economic theories, synchronously follows up international current affairs and comprehensively explores real cases to gain insight into the world with critical thinking and improve financial business literacy from multiple angles and all-round aspects. Its academic activities and participating students have been widely supported and recognized by well-known Wall Street financial institutions and top universities around the world.

It is not that surprising to learn that CHES students have won big awards. Student Nui Loy Yi, who was selected into the 2024NEC Hall of Fame for Macroeconomic and won the National Individual Silver Award, participated in the Pearson Teenagers' English Competence Competition for the first time on behalf of the school as one of the five students when she was in junior high school in 2020, and won two major awards for the school, the National English Ace School and the National Oral English Champion School.

CHES students have also won awards in global business competitions many times, of which the class of 2022 students Zhang Haoxin and KAWAN FENG TSUI have won the First Place in the South China Region in the Simulation Business Competition (ASDAN). In the global authoritative business academic competition BPA held in July 2023, the team of Wu Yazhi and CHEONG CHI SON won the Silver Award in the China Region.
