Recently, the world's leading universities in the US, the UK, Canada, Australia and China's HKSAR have issued a wave of conditional offers to the Chinese students who are holding international curriculum credentials. As in previous years, students from China (Hong Kong) English School have received "olive branches" from their favorite universities. Let's get a closer look at some of the outstanding graduates this year.

Maia Zhou Meilin

Maia Zhou Meilin is a mixed-race girl, and her father is a Canadian who has been doing business in Zhongshan for many years. She and her brother, Matthew Zhou Zihan, attended China (Hong Kong) English School from the first grade until high school. With a strong interest in chemistry, she has made her mind up very early to major in biochemistry at university.

So far, Maia has received conditional offers from Imperial College London, the University of Edinburgh, King's College London and the University of Toronto, and has achieved excellent results.

"Among the several universities where Maia currently received her conditional offers, almost all of them ranked within the top 50 in the world QS rankings. In fact, in recent years, overseas universities such as Imperial College London, the University of Hong Kong, the University of Edinburgh and King's College London have been very popular with students from CHES." Dr. Jonathan K.C. Choi, Chairman of the school mentioned. "Taking Imperial College London as an example, two students from the class of 2021 Luo Zhaoming and Chen Ta Chun were admitted to IC at the same time, and Mai Yongxin, He Lujie, Zhang Haoxin and Chen Keyu, Chairmen of the Student Self-discipline Committee for four consecutive years, were all admitted to the University of Edinburgh. Needless to say, there are more CHES graduates at the University of Hong Kong."

Because her brother Matthew is also studying at the University of Toronto, and her grandparents live in Canada, Maia prefers to study at the University of Toronto. The teachers introduced that Maia's brother Matthew was also an excellent graduate from CHES. "My brother got an 8 in IELTS and I only got 7.5." Maia said.

Cheong Chi Son

Cheong Chi Son, one of Maia's primary and junior high school classmates, has also been studying at China (Hong Kong) English School since grade one. Cheong was born in Macao, and several generations of his family members have worked in business. "When I was little, I followed my parents everywhere in the company, and they have greatly influenced me to become an entrepreneur and start my own business in the future." Cheong Chi Son wants to go to business school in the UK to study modern business management.

Cheong Chi Son's goal is very clear, focusing at the trend of informatization in enterprise management, and he is full of motivation in learning. In April 2023, Cheong Chi Son won the "Top in China" award at the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards held by the Cambridge Assessment International Education. Dr K.C. Jonathan Choi introduced that Cheong Chi Son was the only student in the country who won an award in the first grade of senior high school in the subject of Accounting. "He was a freshman at the time. More than 150,000 students across the country sat for the Cambridge International Examination."

In the global authoritative business competition BPA (Business Professionals America) held in July 2023, Cheong Chi Son and his classmate Wu Yazhi won the silver Award in the China region. Dr. K.C. Jonathan Choi said that the students participating in the BPA business competition have been widely recognized by global academia and well-known enterprises such as Microsoft, HP and Hilton.

Cheong Chi Son has already received offers from the University College London. At the same time, the University of Leeds, Durham University also issued conditional offers to him. "I would love to go to the University College London, which is world-renowned for its business education."
