Mr Tyler Huff is from the United States. He has been fond of Chinese culture since he was a child. According to Bruce Lee's role in the movie The Way of the Dragon, he gave himself a Chinese name, Tang Long (唐龙). In college, Tyler majored in political science. The fruitful achievements of China since its reform and opening up deeply attract him. In order to be able to come to China for a walk and a look one day, he started to learn Mandarin and Cantonese early. In 2015, he finally embarked on a trip to China. Unexpectedly, once he arrived in Zhongshan, he didn't want to go back anymore. Tyler said that he has been to many places such as Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai. In the first three years after coming to China, he often changed jobs. "Until I came to Zhongshan by chance and chose to work at C.H.E.S., I settled down."
Mr Tyler mainly teaches junior middle school oral English and has been doing so for three years.
Compared with domestic learning courses, the biggest difference of the British Cambridge A-level curriculum is that all subjects need to be completed and examined in an all-English environment. Therefore, C.H.E.S. pays more attention to an immersive English teaching in junior middle school to prepare the students for the language exams in the future. Three years ago, Mr Tyler compiled a set of oral English supplementary textbooks from grade seven to grade nine based on the Longman English textbooks. Now it is becoming more and more complete. He said that for those students who transfer schools in the middle or have poor English foundations for other reasons, grade nine is a stage to lay the foundation. For this reason, Mr Tyler and his colleagues are highly motivated and try every means to make English classes lively and full of useful content. In formal classes, he is meticulous and well-organized.
At the school's English corner, Tyler is one of the most active teachers. He often uses all his skills to bring wonderful extracurricular activities.
In Zhongshan, Tyler met his beloved wife, and they have a lovely son. His family strongly supports his work. He also likes to have more conversations with students in class, which involve his travels and experiences around the world. In the words of a foreign student, Teacher Tyler has given him a vision as vast as the ocean of stars.
