Here we come, HKU!
On December 6, as the first light of dawn emerged, dozens of students from China (Hong Kong) English School (CHES), led by Chairman Dr. Jonathan K.C. Choi, set off with great anticipation for a study tour of universities in Hong Kong. This was not merely a simple campus visit, but a growth experience that connected them with the future and their dreams.
The first stop: The University of Hong Kong | Feeling the academic heritage in a century-old institution

Two CHES graduates, Li Yitong (graduate of class of 2022, majoring in Chemistry) and Xu Haiyi (graduate of class 2023, majoring in Actuarial Science), welcome the study tour group to visit the University of Hong Kong
The first stop was The University of Hong Kong. To the students' delight, they were greeted by two alumni from CHES: Senior Li Yitong, a Chemistry Bachelor student (graduate of 2022), and Senior Xu Haiyi, a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science (graduate of 2023).
"Seeing you, I feel like I'm seeing myself back then," the seniors said warmly as they led the group through the campus. From the solemn library building to the lush Sun Yat-sen Memorial Square, and then to the fully equipped Chong Yuet Ming Cultural Center and Shaw Tower, every step was accompanied by the seniors' vivid explanations and warm encouragements.

Between the Science Building and the Main Building, the group encountered Senior Tan Renhuan, a graduate of the Jiangmen campus and now a student in the Department of Science at HKU. He playfully waved and joined the group, exclaiming, "Wherever I go, I meet my fellows - CHES always does the best!" This familiar line from the school song instantly evoked shared memories and a sense of belonging among the students, making them truly feel that the growth path of CHES students have extended far beyond the school's boundaries.
The second stop: Hong Kong Baptist University | The collision of creativity and media
Next, the study tour group arrived at Hong Kong Baptist University, renowned for its media and communication disciplines.

Experiencing the "Little Story Dispenser" creative installation at Hong Kong Baptist University
In the Au Shue Hung Memorial Library, the students were impressed by not only the advanced facilities and superior reading environment but also the many thoughtful touches. The "Little Story Dispenser" in the library randomly sends out a short and interesting piece of knowledge or quote every day, making reading an exploration filled with joy and surprise.
Then, they entered the brand-new Jockey Club Campus of Creativity. Here, global advanced educational facilities are gathered, promoting creative education and interdisciplinary development. The students excitedly tried various high-quality equipment, their eyes shining with curiosity and exploration.
Finally, they visited the Lee Shau Kee Communication and Visual Arts Building, which the university is proud of. Standing in front of the live broadcast studio of the journalism department, many students experienced the charm of the media industry for the first time. "So this is how news is made!" One student exclaimed. The advanced equipment and professional atmosphere sparked a strong interest in the media field among many students.
The third stop: Hong Kong College of Technology | Diverse paths, mastering future skills
The third stop of the trip was Hong Kong College of Technology. Different from comprehensive universities, it showcases another educational model and academic path. Hong Kong College of Technology is one of the local institutions that can award degrees, focusing on social sciences and cultivating students to become talents with a global perspective, professional dedication, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to promote social progress.
The college closely collaborates with the academic and business communities to offer multi-level, multi-mode and mutually integrated courses that meet social needs and international standards. It implements a combination of production, learning, research and application, innovates educational concepts and methods, promotes the continuous development of the institution, and cultivates international and applied talents.

When visiting the cybersecurity laboratory at the Ma On Shan campus, the students were deeply attracted by the high-tech equipment and practical environment. The college introduced the learning modules and facilities related to cybersecurity and AI, laying a solid foundation for students to enhance their application of cutting-edge technologies and develop specialized skills.
Return: Full of gains, education goes beyond the classroom
As the sun set, the study tour came to a successful conclusion. On this day, CHES students not only visited three distinctive universities in Hong Kong, but also experienced the power of growth and the warmth of inheritance under the guidance of their senior peers.
Dr. Jonathan K.C. Choi, when summarizing the gains of this trip, said, "I have always believed that education goes beyond the classroom. Through such study tours, we enable our students to personally experience the atmosphere of different universities, have face-to-face exchanges with their alumni, explore their interests in the process of experience, and see their future in the process of exploration. In the future, the school will create more opportunities for students to visit renowned universities in China's Hong Kong and Macao as well as in overseas areas, and embark on diverse study tours, truly implementing the school's educational mission of 'Where East and West Unites Their Best'."
