CHES holds joint graduation ceremony for Class of 2026

China (Hong Kong) English School (CHES) on June 17 held a joint graduation ceremony for the Class of 2026 at the Zhongshan campus. The event brought together Board Chairman Dr Jonathan Choi, school leaders, parent committee members, and all graduating students and their teachers.

Dr Choi delivered a keynote speech, highlighting the outstanding achievements of the graduating class: by mid-June, the Class of 2026 had received a total of 190 conditional offers from universities ranked in the QS World University Rankings Top 100. Eleven students secured scholarships from prestigious institutions, and over 50% of graduates are set to enter top-tier universities — both records for the school.

He urged students to uphold the school motto — Learned and Trustworthy, Innovative and Dedicated. In an age of rapid AI advancement, he said, they should master technology rather than serve it; they should venture into the world with open minds, yet always carry a sense of national pride and tell China's story well.

The ceremony featured the presentation of graduation diplomas, Achievement Awards, scholarships, and Outstanding Graduate Awards. Student representatives from both the secondary and elementary school divisions delivered heartfelt speeches expressing their attachments to the school and determination to pursue their dreams. Parents presented commemorative gifts to the school, while graduates presented flowers to their teachers. The event was further enlivened by distinctive performances showcasing the unique talents of students across both levels.

Graduation ceremonies for the Jiangmen campus primary and secondary schools will follow on July 3, and kindergartens at both campuses will hold their ceremonies on July 4.

This year, over 800 students across all levels at the Zhongshan and Jiangmen campuses have have moved on to the next stage of their education and embark on new paths of growth.
