The prize-awarding ceremony of The 5th Guangdong Excellent Journal Selection was held at Jinan University days before. Twelve overseas Chinese periodicals including “Zhongshan Overseas Chinese Edition” won “Guangdong Excellent Journal” title.

“Liangdu Overseas Edition” sponsored by South District overseas Chinese office, “Sanxiang Overseas Edition” sponsored by Sanxiang overseas Chinese office and “Dong Zhen Overseas Edition” sponsored by overseas Chinese office of Torch Development Zone were also nominated Guangdong excellent journals. 

Zhongshan is a well-known hometown of overseas Chinese. For a long time, overseas Chinese journals sponsored by municipal and township departments become the emotional tie between hometown and overseas Chinese, and record their contribution to the modernization development of hometown.
