The 2021 Guangdong Chess Tournament (Zhongshan) and 12th Zhongshan Chess Classic took place in South District on April 18.

This is the first Guangdong chess competition held in Zhongshan this year. A total of 750 players from Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Guangzhou and Foshan participated in the event.

Chess is very popular among children in Zhongshan. There were more than 200 young players in this competition, of which more than 150 were in the children group.
