On August 13, Traffic Management Bureau of the Public Security Ministry announced another 10 pilot cities, including Zhongshan, who will start using special plates for new energy vehicles in November, through its official WeChat account.

Zhongshan is also the second in Guangdong province, after Shenzhen, to be selected as a pilot city using special vehicle plates.

Staff of Zhongshan traffic police detachment told the reporter that Zhongshan will initiate the using of special plates for new energy vehicles in November in strict accordance with the deployment of the Traffic Management Bureau of the Public Security Ministry and the provincial traffic management department. 

Compared with the normal car plate, the special plate is mainly in green and has a special logo. The digits of the car number increases from 5 to 6.
