Updated: 2017-08-18    Source: Zhongshan Daily Large Medium Small Print

At 12:00 PM on August 16, the 2017 South China Sea Fishing Ban ended. Fishermen’s fishing enthusiasm was not dampened by the heavy rain. Fishing ships from Hengmen harbor set sail to Zhujiang. At the meanwhile, Zhongshan Fishery Administration Team began enforcement of fishing industry, preventing heavy fishing actions.

The length of Fishing Ban in the South China Sea this year increased by one month and lasted from 12:00 PM on May 1 to 12:00PM on August 16. During the three and a half months of fishing off season, Zhongshan Bureau of Ocean and Fishery maintained the stability through organizing safety training for fishermen and pushing the fishing ship transformation program.

When the fishing ban ended at 12:00 PM on August 16, up to 398 boats in Zhongshan went out to fish.
