It is reported that from September 1 on, open-air barbeque will be clamped down around Guangdong province. This action is expected to last for 3 months.

Why to clamp down on open-air barbeque?

Ozone has become the primary air pollutant in Guangdong province.

According to statistics, 91.6% of the days in the first half of this year meet the national air quality. In addition, ozone, instead of PM2.5, has become the primary air pollutant around the province, accounting for 41.8% among all air pollutants.

To control the air pollutant in a strict manner, the key areas of this clampdown will be Shaxi Town, Shiqi District, Dongfeng Town and Sanxiang Town. 

In addition to open-air barbeque, such industries as metal surface coating, furniture manufacturing and electronic component manufacturing will be listed as key control industries.
