On September 5, Zhongshan Center of Special Education Guidance, Zhongshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Zhongshan Center of Disabled Rehabilitation signed a contract on the "combination medicine with education" program, according to which the government will allocate 60,000 yuan for the purchase of rehabilitation services from Zhongshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for special children learning in regular class or receiving "home delivery" teaching.

12-year-old Tong Tong is one of the first children to enjoy this service. She can only receive home deliver teaching owing to myasthenia of limbs caused by brain paralysis. In future the girl can also go to the hospital for rehabilitation training a week.

"These children need professional doctors’ involvement to improve quality of life and degree of social integration.” Director of Zhongshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine Dr Yang Nan said. After signing the contract, the hospital will do systematic assessment, plan the training and arrange auxiliary equipment for the children, and will assess the effectiveness every month.
