In Zhongshan there are approximately 135,000 children aged from 3 to 6 attending kindergarten this year. Reportedly, needy pre-school children, orphans and disabled children, who are between 3 to 6 and have Guangdong household registration, can receive subsidy from government when they attend kindergartens administrated by Zhongshan municipal education department.

Subsidy policy has been revised several times in Zhongshan. Since 2016, children from poor family and dispersed orphans will be subsidized 5500 yuan per academic year, while disabled children can receive 3300 yuan per year.
