On September 20, the Zhongshan-Hong Kong Passenger Shipping Co-op Co Ltd and the Norwegian BRAA Shipyard Zhongshan Passenger Terminal held a signing ceremony for the construction of Zhongshan-Hong Kong Passenger carbon fiber high-speed ship.

Responsible person of Zhongshan-Hong Kong Passenger said in short future three carbon fiber high-speed passenger ships fastest in the world would serve passengers traveling between Zhongshan and Hong Kong. Each ship could hold 300 passengers at most, with highest traveling speed of 40 knots.

At present, it cost passenger about 100 minutes single trip from Zhongshan Port to Hong Kong by ship. After the new carbon fiber high-speed passenger ships coming into use, the time will be reduced to 75 minutes.
