Recently, China’s Ministry of Environmental Protection released the air quality report, revealing the air quality of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, Yantse River Delta, Pearl River Delta and major cities in the first 8 months of the year. Among the 74 listed cities, Zhongshan ranks 10th. “Good Air”and “Zhongshan Blue Sky” have become a new name card for the city’s green development.
According to the report, the top 10 cities with relatively good air quality include Haikou, Lhasa, Zhuhai, Lishui, Dalian, Xiamen, Guiyang, Xining, Harbin and Zhongshan. The ranking takes the following 6 pollutants into consideration: sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, PM10 (inhalable particles), PM2.5 (fine particulate matter), carbon monoxide and ozone. The listed 74 cities are China’s first group of cities with new air quality standard.
