Zhongshan Public Transportation Group released the 2017 public transport big data report in Zhongshan Daily Group on September 26 to tell Zhongshan citizen’s bus trip behavior with figures. 

So far Zhongshan Public Transportation Group has 2,056 bus in operation. The average daily total distance covered by the bus system is equivalent to 8.33 times the circumference of the earth. 

Up to 580 thousand person-time of passengers use public transportation per day, which means that the whole resident population of Zhongshan are transported every 5 or 6 days. Totally 3.3 million bus IC cards have been issued. About 120 thousand people use smart bus APP to check the arrival of the bus every day. 

Compared with major cities such as Guangzhou and Shenzhen, the commuting time for Zhongshan passengers is relatively shorter, and the whole transportation system operates well. With the help of the smart bus APP, passengers in Zhongshan can enjoy shortened waiting time.

According to statistics provided by National Bureau of Statistics Zhongshan Survey Team,  more than 88% of respondents are satisfied with the current bus transportation system.
