Recently, city leaders found water contamination problems seriously occurred in Qijiang River sections in Shaxi, Dachong and South District when doing investigation by ship and required immediate contamination treatment. 

Reporters learned from the Zhongshan Environmental Protection Bureau that in the past few days many departments and township governments carried out special rectification action by launching urgent inspection to pollution emission firms along Qijiang River. Up to now, seven illegal enterprises were investigated and treated.

In order to protect and improve the environment, the municipal environmental protection bureau encourages the masses to report environmental illegal behaviors. Once identified, the informers would be rewarded 10% of the penalty amount accordingly.

The Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau would keep carrying forward continue comprehensive law enforcement and contamination treatment in key river basins of Qijiang River by taking urgent inspection to pollution emission firms.
