Comparing total 327 cities’ figures in 2016, Zhongshan Survey Team of National Bureau of Statistics draws a conclusion that Zhongshan people’s per capita disposable income ranks 9th among prefecture-level cities nationwide.

In 2016, Zhongshan people’s per capita disposable income increased 10.5% to 40,012 yuan, exceeding 40,000 yuan for the first time. In specific, the per capita disposable income for urban residents was 41613 yuan, while that of rural residents was 27,529. 

Judging from the data, Zhongshan people’s per capita disposable income in 2016 ranks 17th among all cities nationwide and ranks 9th among prefecture-level cities (excluded municipalities, provincial capitals and sub-provincial cities). 

Data shows that annual growth of Zhongshan rural residents’ income growth rate has exceeded that of urban residents’ for years. In 2016, the income ratio between urban and rural residents dropped to 1.51, resulting in more balanced development between urban and rural areas. Zhongshan’s income ratio between urban and rural residents ranks 1st in Guangdong.
