Xiangshan county, the predecessor of Zhongshan city, was founded 865 years ago. Commemorative activity was held on October 14 at Chen’s Ancestral Hall in Kuchong Village of East District for the founder of Xiangshan county Chen Tianju. During the activity, the story fresco created by local folk artist Deng Zhenling was unveiled along with food exchange and Cantonese opera performance.

The commemorative activity was part of the people-benefit project organized by East District government aiming to unify domestic and overseas Zhongshanese, enhance people’s awareness of historical buildings protection, and enrich people’s cultural life.
