Reporter learns from Zhongshan Development and Reform Bureau that the first five laboratories subordinated to enterprises have been through publicity and win the “Municipal Engineering Laboratory” title.

These five laboratories come from 4 fields including the marine high-tech industry, intelligent manufacturing industry, electronic information industry and biomedical industry, with a total investment of 135 million yuan. Two of them are from biomedical industry. Each of the five will be funded 500,000 yuan by government.

"Zhongshan High-throughput Sequencing Engineering Laboratory" of Guangdong Ascendas Genomics Company was one of the five municipal engineering laboratories. Lab manager Xiang Zhufang says the construction of the laboratory was started as early as 2015. It aims to break through high-throughput gene detection, precision medical treatment, personalized treatment of cancer and other important technologies and enhance the industry's innovative ability.
