It is learned from Zhongshan Local Taxation Bureau that from January 1, 2018, vehicle and vessel tax in Zhongshan will be cut dramatically. Some of the items will decrease by more than 80%. The tax on private vehicles with emissions of over 4 litres will decrease by 900 yuan at most. Affected by the new policy, it is expected that Zhongshan will reduce up to 78 million yuan tax revenue per year. 

The tax standard on medium-sized vehicles and motor vehicles will remain unchanged, while on other car types there will be adjustments. The tax on private vehicles will decrease by 60 to 900 yuan in accordance with vehicle emission volume. By then, vehicle and vessel tax will decline to the lowest level permitted by law.
