On the afternoon of October 30, representatives of Guangdong Institute for Drug Control (GDIDC), Zhongshan Food and Drug Supervision Bureau, Management Committee of Torch Development Zone and Zhongshan Institute for Food and Drug Control signed a four-party agreement to establish the GDIDC Zhongshan Laboratory.
According to the agreement, Zhongshan Laboratory will serve as a branch office of GDIDC. It mainly provides testing and technical services such as imported drug quality testing and drug inspection in West Bank of Pearl River region. Zhongshan laboratory will give assistance to improve the testing ability of Zhongshan Institute for Food and Drug Control. During the cooperation time (tentatively fixed at 10 years), Zhongshan-based enterprises can receive prior testing service from the lab.
According to the agreement, the office of Zhongshan Laboratory will be set within the current laboratories of Zhongshan Institute for Food and Drug Control, which covers 3,190 square meters. In the construction period, Zhongshan side will be responsible for equipment purchase and office renovation. GDIDC will set professional technical staff to take charge of daily operation.
