Recently, vegetable prices began to rise due to cooling weather. Statistics from the Zhongshan Development and Reform Bureau showed that after a sharp falling in temperature on November 20, the prices of vegetables saw an obvious rise, but in general maintained stable and were expected to stay at low level.
Monitoring data showed that the average price of 30 kinds of vegetables in Zhongshan continued rising to 4.05 yuan per jin (half a kilo) after the typhoon attacks in August and September, and then kept dropping to 3.56 yuan per jin on November 17. Due to the recent cold air, the vegetable price rebounded to 3.72 yuan per jin on November 27.
With supplement of fresh vegetables, the prices are expected to fall back in short term.
