On December 13, Guangdong Characteristic Towns Construction Work Conference cum Exchange Meeting was held in Guzhen town, Zhongshan. Participants discussed and communicated on “exploration of unique development pattern of Guangdong characteristic towns” and make suggestions.

Reportedly, this year, Guangdong plans to make 36 characteristic towns as provincial models. Guzhen “the Lighting Town”, Dachong “the Redwood Town” and Xiaolan “the Chrysanthemum Smart Valley” of Zhongshan city are included.

The Guangdong Characteristic Towns Development Alliance initiated by the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission was established on the opening day of the conference.

During the conference, Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission and Guangdong Characteristic Town Foundation signed 500 billion yuan worth comprehensive financial and investment support agreements with a number of financial institutions.
