The Zhongshan Tangzhou Express (Phase 1) project has been approved and is under the preliminary design and bid-inviting stage. The construction of the project is expected to start next year.

Tangzhou Express (Phase 1) starts at the intersection of South Outer Ring and Chenggui Road, passes through East District, Wuguishan District, Sanxiang Town and Tanzhou Town, and ends at the intersection of Tanzhou-Shenwan North Road and the Tanzhou-Shenwan Highway.

It will be upgraded basing on the route position of Chenggui Road and Shaxi-Tanzhou Highway. Tanzhou Express (Phase 1) is 27.1 km long, two-way six-lane with auxiliary lanes. The design speed for the main road is 80km/h and 40km/h for the auxiliary lanes.
