According to Zhongshan Civil Affairs Bureau, in 2017, municipal and township governments totally issued 10.34mn yuan (up 10% from 2016) of medical aid fund to 12,778 citizens with major diseases. The per capita hospitalization subsidy reached 3,162 yuan, 12% higher than the provincial standard.

Statistics show that from December 2013 to December 2017, municipal and township financial departments of the city have paid a total of 32.8 million yuan on medical aid, which helped 33,000 poor people.
