Zhongshan Education and Sports Bureau released the “Zhongshan Layout Planning of Kindergartens in Central City (2016-2020)” on January 15. Based on current land use, population distribution and other indicators of 7 districts, it is estimated that by the end of 2020 there will be 354 kindergartens proposed in central city, including 197 new ones, 144 existing ones and 13 renovated ones.

The central city in the planning refers to the central region of Zhongshan city, covering the main urban area (Shiqi District, East District, West District, Sorth District and 5 sub-districts in Wuguishan District), Torch Development Zone (excluding Ma’an Island) and Gangkou Town. The total planned area is about 427.96 square kilometers.

Reportedly, by 2016, total 158 kindergartens had been completed and put into use in central city, including 11 public kindergartens and 110 private ones.
