The 2nd session of The 12th Zhongshan Municipal Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) opened in Zhongshan Convention Center on the morning of January 16. Municipal CPPCC members, from all walks of life, came together to perform their functions of political consultation, democratic supervision and participation in politics, to promote new development of consultative democracy, and to offer advice and suggestions for Zhongshan's economic and social development and the construction of democratic politics.

The session heard both the work report and the proposal work report of the Standing Committee of The 12th Zhongshan Municipal Committee of CPPCC. Excellent proposals and proposers for 2016 and 2017 were commended.
