Last year, Zhongshan reduced 5.213bn yuan local tax, which benefited 190 thousand taxpayers and 153 thousand enterprises, according to local taxation bureau. The tax reduction for the improvement of people's livelihood reached 2.975bn yuan, accounting for more than 68% of the total.

“It is so intimate the local taxation bureau provides us the tax relief in time when we are in difficulties.” Said Feng Quanxiang from Zhongshan Foodstuffs Import and Export Co Ltd. 

Reportedly, as a famous leading agricultural enterprise based in Zhongshan, Zhongshan Foodstuffs possesses agricultural production bases including the “Happy Farm”. The company suffered a direct economic loss of nearly 4mn yuan in August last year after being attacked by typhoon Hato. The local tax authorities forwardly contacted the company and offered assistance in tax reduction of 268.1 thousand yuan.
