Nantou town’s livelihood expenditure for 2017 reached 323 million yuan, known from The 4th Session of The 16th Nantou Township People’s Congress convened days before. “We can’t miss a livelihood project this year, even though there will be financial pressure.” Nantou Town Chief Huang Zepei said.

Reportedly, Nantou improved medical service last year. Accumulatedly nearly 40,000 residents signed “family doctor” service, and more than 100,000 residents have their own health record.

The township government also scaled up support for employment, in which case 2,045 residents got jobs last year.

Nantou kept optimizing the social security system. Last year, a total amount of 1.9 million yuan subsidy was issued to low income families. The government also completed dilapidated house renovation for 17 poor families.
