Dong Hong, Zhongshan Red Cross volunteer, felt gracious when looking at the old pictures of the Zhongshan Charity Parade. She said that most of her volunteer life was spent in the Red Cross. The project “Grow with love”, which has helped more than 3,000 poor students, was the most memorable for her.

Over the years, with the campaigns such as “Love home” and “The Red Cross sends warmth”, more than 110 public projects have been financed by the donation of Charity Parade.

From 1988 to 1997, the Charity Parade mainly supports livelihood projects. Donation have been used for the construction of the City Welfare Home, Boai Hospital, Zhongshan Special Education School, the Red Cross Blood Station, the Red Cross Health Training Center and the senior high school department of Zhongshan NO.1 Middle school.

The red cross societies in towns and districts were successively established in 1997. The donation of the Charity Parade were used for public welfare undertakings and humanitarian aid.
