According to the city’s development and reform conference held on the morning of February 28, Zhongshan made progress in development and reform in 2017 and 16 reform items, including comprehensive reform of service sector, had been approved and granted 241mn yuan supporting fund by the state and provincial governments.

Last year, the city completed fixed-asset investment of 124.85bn yuan. Annual investment of key projects exceeded 50bn yuan for the first time. High Speed Rail from Zhongshan to nine cities (directions) including Beijing and Shanghai had been opened. In addition, the first “green corporate bond” in Zhongshan was authorized. Added value of service industry reached 164.845bn yuan, while the contribution rate of service sector growth to economic growth exceeded 60% for the first time. Moreover, 18 city-level characteristic towns completed planning formulation last year.
