The closing meeting of the first Guangdong Salt Water Song Culture Festival was held in Diyin Lake characteristic town of Sanjiao town days before to discuss how to inject new vitality into salty water song culture and how to combine it with cultural tourism.

Salty water song is a traditional folk song popular in the Pearl River Delta region. Zhongshan salty water song was listed in the first national intangible cultural heritage list in 2006.

Reportedly, the award party of The First Guangdong Salty Water Song Culture Festival cum “The First Guangdong Saltwater Song Lyrics Competition” was held in Tanzhou town on January 28 evening. Qiu Shuhong, Chairman of Zhongshan Municipal Committee of CPPCC, noted that the event was the first comprehensive exhibition of the traditional folk song culture including lyrics creation, music composition, video production and singing performance.
