Chief Executive of Hong Kong Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor came to Zhongshan last Thursday and visited National Health Technology Park, the Zhongshan landing point of Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel, and Tsui Hang New District.

It was Carrie Lam’s first official visit to Zhongshan after she took office, and the return visit to Zhongshan Municipal Party Secretary Chen Xudong’s visit to Hong Kong in late February. 

The Hong Kong leader said Zhongshan could play important role in the key projects Hong Kong would push forward in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area development. She believed her visit to Zhongshan was conducive to deepened exchange and cooperation of both sides and laid solid foundation for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area development.

In Zhongshan, Carrie Lam expressed appreciation to the good industrial environment and the exploration in industrial internationalization and innovative platform construction of the National Health Technology Park. She looked forward to strengthened cooperation of both sides in health and medicine industry.

Hong Kong media including Wen Wei Po and Ta Kung Pao focused on the visit and published relevant news and editorials for days. “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area”, “Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel”, “Bay Area 1-hour Life Circle” and “Youth Entrepreneurship” had become high-frequency words captivating Hong Kong media and public.
