The Zhongshan Illness-related Poverty Support Center co-founded by Zhongshan Civil Affairs Bureau, Zhongshan Charity Association and Perfect (China) Co Ltd has been put into trial operation since April 18. 

The support center reportedly combines medical aid to poverty residents with critical illnesses, temporary assistance and charitable aid, implements proactive identification and salvation of poor patients through the “one-stop” settlement system, and develops target people data base. In addition, Perfect (China) Co Ltd establishes a 3mn-yuan special fund to financially support non-policy self-payers and self-paying patients.

Social workers and volunteers will also play important role in service providing to target people. Once the support center identifies illness-related needy families through social workers and volunteers, it will offer them with not only medical aid, but also other assistance such as education financial aid.
