As the building contract of the bridge part of Shenzhen-Zhognshan Channel was signed on April 17, the construction, including the installation of temporary construction facilities, is expected to start later this month, Guangdong Communication Group announced on April 18. The pile foundation construction will officially begin on September 1 this year.
According to Chen Weile, Director of Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel Management Center, the bridge part is about 17 kilometers in length with two-way eight-lane and design speed of 100 km/h. The 90-meter-high Lingdingyang Bridge is expected to be the highest sea bridge in the world after completion in 2024.
