The national teleconference on mass sports held on April 20 summarized the development history of mass sport and deployed the key work in 2018.

It is known from the conference that Zhongshan is going to gradually accelerate upgrade and renovation of the city’s sports venues and facilities, to start the maintenance and reconstruction project for Xingzhong Stadium, the renovation of the tennis courts and the construction of additional basketball courts in Zhongshan Fitness Square, and to upgrade other public sports venues city-wide.

Zhongshan also plans to integrate venue resources including fitness squares, sports parks and vacant lands in communities with special fund to promote construction of 25 five-a-side public football fields. 

In addition, Zhongshan plans to build another 15 community sports parks and to continue to promote free or low-cost opening of public sports venues in order to improve sport-related public service level.
