A Zhongshan delegation led by Zhongshan Municipal Party Secretary Chen Xudong visited Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province on April 23 to 25 for research of mutual cooperation in poverty relief. The delegation attended the joint conference with local government leaders and afterwards paid visits to Zhongshan officials and technical personnel accredited at Zhaotong City.

During the joint conference, Chen Xudong underlined Zhongshan would focus on industrial cooperation with Zhaotong and explore industrialized agricultural business mode incorporating local features in order to improve endogenous power of development in poverty-stricken areas.

Reportedly, Zhongshan and Dongguan city have established poverty alleviation cooperation with Zhaotong in accordance with deployment of provincial government. Over the past year, Zhongshan has launched a series of programs in terms of industry, education, tourism, labor migrant, medical services, cadre and talent exchange, anti-poverty factory relocation, agriculture and etc and achieved periodic results.
