According to Zhongshan Investigation Team of National Bureau of Statistics, Zhongshan's consumer price index (CPI) was up 0.3% in April from a month earlier, recording a year-on-year increase of 0.6% .

Compared with the figures in March, the food prices continued to pull back in April. The prices of vegetables, meat and aquatic products all saw dramatic decreases. The prices of 25 out of 38 monitored vegetables dropped, resulting in an overall 8.7% drop in the price of fresh vegetables.

Zhongshan’s CPI has increased by 1.3% in the first four months of the year.
