Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment released the national air quality status report (covering Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta region and municipalities, provincial capital cities, and cities with independent planning status) for April and for the first four months of the year days before.
According to the report, in April, Zhongshan and Huizhou both ranked sixth in air quality among 74 monitored cities.
Reportedly, in April, the top 10 cities with better air quality included Haikou, Lhasa, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Zhoushan, Zhongshan and Huizhou (tied), Guiyang, Xiamen and Lishui. The best 10 in January-to-April period were Haikou, Lhasa, Zhoushan, Xiamen, Lishui, Shenzhen, Fuzhou, Huizhou, Zhuhai and Taizhou.
In April, the average proportion of days with good air of 9 cities in Pearl River Delta region reached 91.1%. The average PM2.5 concentration was 34 μg/m³. And the average concentration of PM10 increased 14.8% to 62 μg/m³ from a year earlier.
