Zhongshan Bureau of Statistics released on May 6 that the average salary of Zhongshan urban employed persons of non-private enterprises in 2017 was 67,728 yuan, 4.7% more than a year earlier.

Employees in financial industry were the highest paid, with an average annual wage of 155,887 yuan, followed by employees of public management, social security and social organization sector (138,467 yuan) and in health and social work sector (122,131 yuan).

Meanwhile, the average salary of employees in private enterprises increased 3.4% from 2016 to 43,532 yuan last year.

The top three industries with the highest salary are financial industry, production of electricity, heating power, gas and water and health and social work, with annual income of 69,571 yuan, 62,023 yuan and 57,710 yuan respectively, which are 1.60 times, 1.42 times and 1.33 times higher than the city average.
