The “Donate Blood, Share Life” Commemorative Activity for World Blood Donor Day was carried out on June 23 in Zhongshan. Some units and individuals were commended during the activity.

In 2017, Zhongshan won the “Guangdong Advanced City of Voluntary Blood Donation” title, while UESTC Zhongshan Institute, Xiaolan Volunteers Association and Administration Committee of Zhongshan Torch High-tech Industrial Development Zone respectively won the “Guangdong Promotion Unit of Voluntary Blood Donation” title. In addition, total 1,238 Zhongshan persons were prized “Voluntary Blood Donation Special Award”. 

Reportedly, nearly 910 thousand people in Zhongshan have participated in voluntary blood donation and contributed 188 tons of blood since October of 1998.
