China’s first transnational DNA recognition succeeds
Updated: 2018-07-03    Source: Zhongshan Daily Large Medium Small Print

12:15pm of July 1, at terminal T1 of Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, 18-year-old American girl Zhong Fengmin and her father embraced each other tightly, with rain of tears. They waited for this hug for 13 years.

The girl who was adopted by a US family turned to the media for help on April 24 this year, hoping to find her natural parents. She got lost 13 years ago in Dongfeng town, Zhongshan city.

Fortunately, the media reports were exposed to her father Liang Hua, who currently lives in Shunde city. With the help of volunteers and police, Liang Hua finally reunited his daughter after two months’ communication and DNA comparison.

According to Shunde police, this is the first successful case of transnational DNA recognition in China.
