The Achievements of Zhongshan Medium and Long Term Football Development Planning and Zhongshan Football Field Facilities Construction Planning have been released by Zhongshan Urban and Rural Planning Bureau recently. According to the plannings, Zhongshan aims to develop above-the-average football quality and development level province-wide by 2020, to develop leading football quality province-wide by 2030, and top football quality province-wide by 2050.

The plannings show that currently there are 292 football fields in Zhongshan. The number is expected to exceed 327 by 2020.

Additionally, Zhongshan will continue the “campus football campaign”. By 2025, there expected to be over 130 football characteristic schools and more than 100 thousand students participating in football activities, and, by 2025, there will be more than 3,500 youth football players under systematic training.
