Zhongshan's half-year CPI increases by 1.2%

According to Zhongshan investigation team of National Bureau of Statistics, Zhongshan's consumer price index (CPI) was up 0.3% month-on-month in June, recording a year-on-year increase of 1.1%.

Food prices rose by 1.0%. The prices of vegetables saw dramatic increases, with a 4.4% growth. The prices of 27 out of 38 monitored vegetables increased.

Service prices were relatively stable in June, up 0.2%. Tourism prices went up due to many students traveled after the college entrance examination. Hotel prices decreased by 1.3% and movie ticket prices went down. 

In the first half of the year, Zhongshan's CPI increased by 1.2%. The increase was 0.4 percentage point lower than that in the first quarter, and 0.8 percentage point lower than the provincial average.
