Guangdong provincial government convened the land management video conference on July 25 to make deployment on key land management work for the next stage and report the result of the annual farmland protection assessment for 2017.

The provincial government evaluated 21 cities in farmland protection work in 6 aspects including “total farmland” and “high standard farmland construction”. Ten cities obtained “Annual Farmland Protection Prize”. Zhongshan and Jiangmen won the first prize.

The provincial government commended 6 cities and 47 counties (districts) which had good performance in “high standard farmland construction”. Zhongshan was in the list. 

During the conference, provincial government also signed “objectives statement of responsibility of farmland protection” with 21 cities.
