According to the latest monthly employment data announced by Zhongshan Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, by the end of July, the city’s newly-employed increased 9.33% year-on-year to 39 thousand. The job demand ratio (job demand over number of job seekers) for July dropped 0.04 to 2.22 from a month earlier.

Skilled workers are still in great demand. Statistics show that the demand for skilled workers was 14,748 in July and the according number of job seekers was 3,629, which led to a 11,119 gap. The job demand ratio for primary and intermediate technician was about 5.56.

Statistics also show that domestic enterprises were losing the most employees, which accounted for 49.15% of the total jobs lost. The loss of jobs was mainly in manufacturing industry.
