The new Individual Income Tax Law, amended for 7 times, will be put into force from January 1, 2019. The new personal income tax threshold, which is set to take effect on October 1 this year, is raised from 3,500 yuan to 5,000 yuan per month.

Official of Zhongshan revenue authority explained that about 620,000 citizens are with 3,500 yuan to 5,000 yuan monthly income. These taxpayers will be no longer necessary to pay individual income tax after the adjustment. People with higher monthly income will pay less tax. For example, taxpayer with 8,000 yuan monthly income will pay 255 yuan less tax per month, according to the amendment to the Individual Income Tax Law.
