Citizens can do paternity test “at home” in Zhongshan from now on. 

According to Zhongshan Justice Bureau, Guangdong Gongliang Judicial Identification Center has become the first judicial expertise agency qualified for DNA identification in Zhongshan. The appraisal report it issued has judicial authenticity nationwide.

Gu Yangyun, the principal of Guangdong Gongliang Judicial Identification Center, introduced that paternity test can be divided into individual paternity test and judicial paternity test. The result of “individual paternity test” can be used as evidence in civil procedure, while that of “judicial paternity test” can be used both for judicial purposes or as sworn evidence in court.
